The Dawn of Misery
The Dawn of Misery was a day of tragedy and unspeakable evil. Throughout Zenoi undead rose and slaughtered the people of the country. Every village was destroyed, almost all townsfolk were killed and only two cities managed to survive the attack. It was only the capital city of Zalen that managed to repel the attack thanks to The Miracle of Three Gods.
As the sun set the evening before the Dawn of Misery, faint laughter was heard throughout the entire nation and echoed off the eastern mountain range. Within minutes of that noise, the dead burst forth from the ground instantly killing any who were near and then moving on to the closest populations. Almost systematically, the dead moved toward villages, then towards towns, and finally toward the cities of Zenoi, killing all in their path. Although a few towns managed to survive, most were butchered. Only the cities of Zalen and Aberthen managed to repel the undead attack and while Aberthen lost over half its population, Zalen lost a mere 10%, thanks to The Miracle of Three Gods.
Over 70,000 people were killed by the time the sun rose on the next day, and thus the day was deemed The Dawn of Misery.
